About

Inspired by the Wenatchee Valley Cross, we are erecting a sign of Hope for the Upper Valley of Wenatchee River near Leavenworth.

The inspiration for the Upper Valley Cross originated from the awe-inspiring sight of a large illuminated cross overlooking Wenatchee and East Wenatchee. Bathed in a luminous glow at night, it serves as a poignant reminder of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ—a beacon of faith in our community. Motivated by their Christian faith and the profound message of love and mercy, a group of men from various denominations embarked on a journey to bring a similar symbol of hope to the upper valley.

Collaborating with the coordinator of the Wenatchee Valley cross, these men initially prayed for guidance and feasibility. Miraculously, a generous property owner offered a location on Tumwater Mountain, providing a breathtaking vista overlooking Leavenworth—the "City of Lights"—and visible from many neighboring towns to the east.

After numerous visits to the mountain, a suitable site was identified, and work commenced in June 2024 to establish the foundation and begin construction of the cross.

To engage and involve the wider community, a website (UpperValleyCross.org) was launched offering a platform for donations and support from anyone moved by this initiative.
